WabModCheap allows the Wii to play backup discs - Image 1Home-based developer AloneTrio just informed us here at QJ that pet project WabModCheap has just been updated to v2.2. In case you are not familiar with this tool, it is actually a program patch that will allow users to run backup discs on the Wii.
The great thing about WabModCheap is that it will not require users to have a real chip for it to work. AloneTrio added that if you feel like you need one, you can go and look for WiiFREE. To run this program, all you have to do is connect your Wii to the PC using parallel cables (4 wire Wii side).
Please take note that success and all sync-related matters are a whole lot dependent on your parallel port (configuration, speed, etc.). For this version, hardcoded sync values were removed by AloneTrio so every user can specify the program based on their own needs.
The usage for WabModCheap v2.2 is ./WabModcheap RW_WAIT C_WAIT. And a good example would be ./WabModcheap 100 1000. Since hardcoding has been removed already, AloneTrio suggests trying other C_Wait values like 100, 200, 300, and so on.
